13th Annual Plant Celebration

Volunteers needed!

A core committee spends months organizing, planning and preparing plants, but we still need the help of our members and friends to create a festive and organized event. Our success depends on all of the committed people who are willing to donate their time. Please consider volunteering for a shift or two.

General set-up and take-down – Friday afternoon, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon
Food: Donating baked goods; staffing food table; dishes – 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Silent Auction: Donating items; staffing table – 9 a.m. to 12 noon

Vendors and artists wanted!

The Centre County Historical Society is seeking garden enthusiasts, vendors and artists to participate in the Plant Celebration at the Mansion on Saturday, May 10, 2008.

The Plant Celebration focuses on the sale of plants (both native and non-native), garden related items, and nature-inspired artwork.

There will also be a silent auction of garden related items, and we would greatly welcome donations!

Guidelines
  • The cost for participation is a 20% commission of all sales if table is staffed by the grower (15% if paid the day of the sale); 25% if CCHS staff tables.
  • Growers are expected to have plants in place at least one-half hour before the event, beginning at 7:30 a.m.
  • Each grower will be allotted a reasonable amount of space and will be responsible for his/her own display, including all equipment.
  • Vehicles are not allowed on the mansion grounds other than for loading and unloading plants. They may not be used as part of a grower's display.
  • Growers are responsible for their own financial arrangements, including collection of sales tax.
  • Participating growers agree to distribute invitations to the event at their place of business or through their mailing lists, or to provide CCHS with those mailing lists.
