Touring the Centre Furnace Mansion
Take a Virtual Tour of the Centre Furnace Mansion Welcome to the Centre Furnace Mansion. This was the home of Centre Furnace ironmaster Moses Thompson, his wife Mary Irvin Thompson, and their family; it is now the headquarters of the Centre County Historical Society. The house and grounds have been restored to their 19th-century splendor. We invite you to join us on a tour! Starting in 2010: The Mansion is open to the public for tours year-round on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Admission is a suggested donation of $4, and no appointment is necessary. The grounds are open for exploring at any time. The Mansion and grounds are wheelchair accessible. For larger groups, we ask that you call ahead to schedule your tour. For information on school tours, please click here. The Mansion is closed on most public holidays. * In the case of inclement weather, it is advised to call ahead to make sure the Mansion is open. The Mansion is closed when the State College Area School District cancels classes. * |
